নির্বাচনকে ঘিরে বড় দুই দলের মুখোমুখি অবস্থানে উত্তপ্ত রাজনীতির মাঠ। বিএনপির পদযাত্রার বিপরীতে আওয়ামী লীগ করেছে উন্নয়ন-শান্তি শোভযাত্রা। দুই পক্ষই কর্মসূচিতে মানুষের ঢল নামিয়ে নিজেদের সাংগঠনিক শক্তির জানান দিয়েছে। দু’পক্ষের পাল্টাপাল্টি কর্মসূচি পালনকালে দেশের কয়েকটি স্থানে বিক্ষিপ্ত সংঘর্ষের ঘটনাও ঘটেছে। আজ বুধবারও রাজধানীতে পাল্টাপাল্টি কর্মসূচি পালন করবে আওয়ামী লীগ ও বিএনপি।
পদযাত্রা কর্মসূচি পালনকালে সরকারের পতন ছাড়া নেতারা ঘরে ফিরে যাবেন না বলে জানিয়েছেন বিএনপির নেতারা। তারা এও বলেছেন, সরকারের পদত্যাগ ছাড়া তারা কোনো নির্বাচনে যাবেন না, হতেও দেবেন না। অন্যদিকে, আওয়ামী লীগও তাদের কর্মসূচি থেকে আগামী নির্বাচন পর্যন্ত রাজপথে থেকে বিএনপিকে মোকাবিলার হুমকি দিয়ে বলেছে, বিএনপি যতই মারামারি করুক, হুমকি দিক না কেন সংবিধান থেকে এক চুলও নড়বে না আওয়ামী লীগ।
দু’পক্ষের এই অনড় অবস্থানের কারণে দেশে আবারও সংঘাত-সংঘর্ষের আশঙ্কায় আতঙ্কিত হয়ে উঠেছে দেশের সাধারণ জনগণ। পদযাত্রার পর বিএনপি রাজপথের আন্দোলন জোরদার করতে আজ বুধবার আবার নতুন কর্মসূচি ঘোষণা দেবে। অন্যদিকে, বিএনপিকে ফাঁকা মাঠে গোল দিতে দেবে না ক্ষমতাসীন দল আওয়ামী লীগ। বিএনপির সম্ভাব্য কর্মসূচির বিপরীতে আওয়ামী লীগও নানা কর্মসূচি দিয়ে সারাদেশেই রাজপথে সজাগ ও সতর্ক অবস্থানে থাকবে। এমন পাল্টাপাল্টি কর্মসূচির ধারাবাহিকতায় আগামী দ্বাদশ জাতীয় নির্বাচনের আগে দেশের রাজনীতি শেষ পর্যন্ত কী রূপ নেবে- দেশ কী আবার ২০১৩-১৫ সালের মতো রাজনৈতিক সহিংসতা ভয়াল রূপ নেবে? এ নিয়ে সাধারণ মানুষের উদ্বেগ-উৎকণ্ঠা পাল্লা দিয়েই বাড়ছে।
