ঢাকা: ব্যাংক খাতের মাথাব্যথা হলো খেলাপি ঋণ। খেলাপি ঋণ কমানোর নানা রকম চেষ্টার মধ্যেও বাড়ছে। এক বছরে খেলাপি ঋণ বেড়েছে ২৪ হাজার ৯৭৭ কোটি টাকা, যা মোট বিতরণ করা ঋণের ৯ শতাংশ।
সোমবার (১২ ফেব্রুয়ারি) বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংকের খেলাপি ঋণ সম্পর্কিত হালনাগাদ প্রতিবেদন থেকে এ তথ্য পাওয়া গেছে।
তথ্য বলছে, হাল নাগাদ খেলাপি ঋণের পরিমাণ দাঁড়িয়েছে এক লাখ ৪৫ হাজার ৬৩৩ কোটি টাকা। এক বছর আগে যা ছিল এক লাখ ২০ হাজার ৬৫৬ কোটি টাকা।
কেন্দ্রীয় ব্যাংকের তথ্য বলছে, ২০২৩ সালের ডিসেম্বর মাস শেষে ব্যাংকিং খাতে মোট বিতরণ (আউটস্ট্যান্ডিং) করা ঋণের পরিমাণ দাঁড়িয়েছে ১৬ লাখ ১৭ হাজার ৬৮৮ কোটি টাকা। এর মধ্যে খেলাপিতে পরিণত হয়েছে এক লাখ ৪৫ হাজার ৬৩৩ কোটি টাকা, যা মোট বিতরণ করা ঋণের ৯ শতাংশ।
খেলাপি ঋণের তথ্য বিশ্লেষণ করলে দেখা যায়, মোট খেলাপি ঋণের মধ্যে রাষ্ট্রায়ত্ত বাণিজ্যিক ব্যাংকগুলোতে ডিসেম্বর শেষে খেলাপি ঋণের পরিমাণ দাঁড়িয়েছে ৬৫ হাজার ৭৮১ কোটি টাকা, যা তাদের মোট ঋণের ২১ শতাংশ। একই সময় বেসরকারি বাণিজ্যিক ব্যাংকগুলোতে খেলাপি ঋণের হার দাঁড়িয়েছে ৫ দশমিক ৯৩ শতাংশ। বেসরকারি এসব ব্যাংকের মোট খেলাপি ঋণের পরিমাণ দাঁড়িয়েছে ৭০ হাজার ৯৮১ কোটি টাকা। আর বিশেষায়িত ব্যাংকগুলোর ঋণ খেলাপি হয়েছে ১৩ দশমিক ৮৭ শতাংশ। এসব ব্যাংকের মোট খেলাপি ঋণের পরিমাণ দাঁড়িয়েছে ৫ হাজার ৬৬৯ কোটি টাকা।
এক বছরে খেলাপি ঋণ কিছুটা বাড়লেও কমেছে শেষ তিন মাস অক্টোবর, নভেম্বর ও ডিসেম্বর মাসে। এ সময় কমার পরিমাণ ৯ হাজার ৭৬৫ কোটি টাকা। গত বছরের সেপ্টেম্বর প্রান্তিকে খেলাপি ঋণের পরিমাণ ছিল এক লাখ ৫৫ হাজার ৩৯৮ কোটি টাকা, যা তখন বিতরণ করা মোট ঋণের ৯ দশমিক ৯৩ শতাংশ।
