প্রধান বিচারপতির বাসভবনে হামলার ঘটনায় রাজধানীর রমনা থানায় দায়ের করা মামলায় বিএনপির মহাসচিব মির্জা ফখরুল ইসলাম আলমগীর ও বিএনপির স্থায়ী কমিটির সদস্য আমীর খসরু মাহমুদ চৌধুরী জামিন পেয়েছেন।
ঢাকার মহানগর দায়রা জজ আদালতের ভারপ্রাপ্ত বিচারক ফয়সল আতিক বিন কাদের আজ বুধবার বিএনপির এই দুই নেতার জামিন মঞ্জুর করেন।
এ তথ্য নিশ্চিত করেছেন ঢাকার মহানগর দায়রা জজ আদালতের অতিরিক্ত পাবলিক প্রসিকিউটর তাপস কুমার পাল।
মির্জা ফখরুলের আইনজীবীরা জানিয়েছেন, অন্য সব মামলায় আগেই জামিন হয়েছে। এখন বিএনপি মহাসচিবের মুক্তি পেতে আইনগত কোনো বাধা নেই।
এর আগে গত ৬ ফেব্রুয়ারি মির্জা ফখরুল ইসলাম আলমগীর ও বিএনপির স্থায়ী কমিটির সদস্য আমীর খসরু মাহমুদ চৌধুরীর জামিন চেয়ে আবেদন করেন তাঁদের আইনজীবীরা।
বিএনপির মহাসচিব মির্জা ফখরুল ইসলাম আলমগীরের বিরুদ্ধে গত ২৮ অক্টোবর এবং এর পরের সংঘর্ষ ও সহিংসতাকে কেন্দ্র করে ১১টি মামলা হয়। এর আগে ১০টিতে তিনি জামিন পেয়েছেন। প্রধান বিচারপতির বাসভবনে হামলার মামলায় তাঁর আজ জামিন মঞ্জুর করেন আদালত।
অন্যদিকে আমীর খসরু মাহমুদ চৌধুরীর বিরুদ্ধে ১০টি মামলা হয়। এর আগে তিনি ৯টি মামলায় জামিন পান। আজ তিনিও প্রধান বিচারপতির বাসভবনে হামলার মামলায় জামিন পেয়েছেন।
সর্বশেষ গত ১৭ জানুয়ারি রাজধানীর পল্টন থানায় হওয়া একটি মামলায় জামিন পান বিএনপির মহাসচিব মির্জা ফখরুল ইসলাম আলমগীর।
এর আগে ১০ জানুয়ারি ঢাকার সিএমএম আদালত থেকে ৯টি মামলায় জামিন পান মির্জা ফখরুল।
গত ২৯ অক্টোবর গ্রেপ্তার হয়ে সেদিন থেকে সাড়ে তিন মাস সময় ধরে কারাগারে মির্জা ফখরুল।
২৮ অক্টোবর ঢাকায় বিএনপির মহাসমাবেশ ঘিরে পুলিশের সঙ্গে দলটির নেতা-কর্মীদের সংঘর্ষের ঘটনায় করা মামলায় গ্রেপ্তার হয়ে কারাগারে আমীর খসরু মাহমুদ চৌধুরী।
পুলিশ সদস্য হত্যা মামলায় আমীর খসরুকে গত ২ নভেম্বর রাতে গ্রেপ্তার করা হয়।
