মালয়েশিয়ার কেলান্তান রাজ্যের মাচাং জেলার কাম্পুং মাকা পুলাই চোনডংয়ে একটি হাইওয়ে নির্মাণস্থলে মাটিচাপায় প্রাণ হারায় তিন বাংলাদেশি। তবে তাদের পরিচয় এখনো জানা যায়নি।
বৃহস্পতিবার (২ নভেম্বর) এ দুর্ঘটনা ঘটে। প্রত্যক্ষদর্শী আনিস আসিকিন আরিফিন (২৯) জানান, স্থানীয় সময় দুপুর ১২টার দিকে যখন ঘটনাটি ঘটে তখন তিনি বাড়ি থেকে বেশ চেঁচামেচি শুনতে পান। তার ভাষ্যমতে, বাড়ি থেকে বেরিয়ে তিন দেখতে পান ওই সময় ভুক্তভোগীদের সহকর্মীরা এসকাভেটর এরদিকে ছুটে যাচ্ছে, যেখানে তিন শ্রমিক মাটি চাপা পড়েছিল। প্রত্যক্ষ্যদর্শী দাবি করেছেন তিনজন নিহত বাংলাদেশি শ্রমিক হতে পারে। কারণ তার আগে বেশ কয়েকজন শ্রমিক সেখানে কাজ করছিল।
মাচাং জেলা পুলিশ সুপার মো: আদলি মাত দাউদের সাথে যোগাযোগ করা হলে তিনি ঘটনার খবর পাওয়ার বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করেন।
এদিকে, উদ্ধার অভিযানের অপারেশন কমান্ডার আহমেদ আলফারা বিন মোহাম্মদ জিন জানিয়েছেন, যখন দমকল এসে ঘটনাস্তলে পৌঁছায় ততক্ষণে মারা গেছে তিনজনই।
অপরদিকে তাদের লাশ উদ্ধার করে মাচাং জেলা পুলিশে হস্তান্তর করা হয়েছে বলে জানা গেছে। পুলিশ জানায় লাশ ময়নাতদন্তের জন্য হাসপাতালে পাঠানো হয়েছে।
