ইসরায়েলি বিমান হামলায় দক্ষিণাঞ্চলীয় শহর রাফাহতে শনিবার রাতে ছয় শিশুসহ একটি ফিলিস্তিনি পরিবারের ৯ সদস্য নিহত হয়েছে। গাজার সিভিল ডিফেন্স এজেন্সির বরাত দিয়ে এএফপি এক প্রতিবেদনে এ তথ্য জানিয়েছে।
এজেন্সির মুখপাত্র মাহমুদ বাসাল এক বিবৃতিতে বলেছেন, ‘ইসরায়েলি বিমানবাহিনী রাফাহ শহরের তাল আল-সুলতানে একটি রাদওয়ান পরিবারের বাড়িতে হামলার পর ছয় শিশুসহ ৯ জনকে ধ্বংসস্তূপ থেকে বের করে আনা হয়েছে।’
এ ছাড়া শহরের আল নাজ্জার হাসপাতালের বরাত দিয়ে প্রতিবেদনে বলা হয়েছে, দুই নারী, এক পুরুষসহ এক থেকে সাত বছর বয়সী পাঁচ শিশু এবং ১৬ বছর বয়সী একটি মেয়ে নিহতদের মধ্যে রয়েছে।
হাসপাতালের বাইরে একজন এএফপি সাংবাদিক লাশের ছোট ব্যাগসহ শোকার্ত লোকজনকে দেখেছেন। এ সময় একটি প্লেন মাথার ওপর দিয়ে যাচ্ছিল, তখন এক নারী একটি মৃত ছেলের কপালে আলতো করে স্পর্শ করেন।
প্রতিবেশী আবু মোহাম্মদ জিয়াদাহ এএফপিকে বলেন, ‘মানুষ শান্তিতে ঘুমাচ্ছিল। আপনি দেখতে পাচ্ছেন, সেখানে কোনো যোদ্ধা ছিল না, এমনকি পুরুষ প্রাপ্তবয়স্করাও ছিল না পরিবারের প্রধান ছাড়া। তারা সবাই নারী ও শিশু।’
গণমাধ্যমটির তথ্য অনুসারে, ৭ অক্টোবর গাজায় যুদ্ধ শুরু হওয়ার পরপরই ইসরায়েল গাজার উত্তরে বসবাসকারী ফিলিস্তিনিদের রাফাহ অঞ্চলের দক্ষিণে ‘নিরাপদ অঞ্চলে’ চলে যেতে বলে। কিন্তু ইসরায়েলের প্রধানমন্ত্রী বেনিয়ামিন নেতানিয়াহু তখন থেকে শহরটিতে আক্রমণ করার প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়েছেন। সেখানে প্রায় ১৫ লাখ মানুষ আশ্রয় নিচ্ছে, যা ওই অঞ্চলের জনসংখ্যার অর্ধেকেরও বেশি।
এ ছাড়া ইসরায়েল দুই মাস ধরে হামাস যোদ্ধাদের বিরুদ্ধে সেনা পাঠানোর হুমকি দিয়েছে। কিন্তু এমন কোনো অভিযান পরিচালনা ছাড়াই রাফাহ নিয়মিত বোমাবর্ষণের শিকার হচ্ছে।
মাহমুদ বাসাল জানান, ইসরায়েলি সেনাবাহিনী রাফাহ শহরের বেশ কয়েকটি এলাকায় গত রাতে হামলা চালিয়েছে, যার মধ্যে সালাম পাড়াও রয়েছে। সেখানে একজন নিহত এবং বেশ কয়েকজন আহত হয়েছে। সেনাবাহিনী একটি বাড়ি ও একটি নার্সারি স্কুলে আঘাত করে তিনি আরো বলেন, ‘রাফাহতে এটি একটি খুব কঠিন রাত ছিল।
